Lenovo, Bytec and Unicon join forces to create hybrid workstations and desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) solutions

04 December 2023

Karlsruhe, Germany – December 04, 2023 – Game-changing alliance between Unicon, leading provider of the Linux-based operating system eLux, and IT heavyweights Lenovo and Bytec marks milestone in IT partnerships. This close collaboration paves the way for creating first-rate hardware and software bundles that offer system vendors, service providers and enterprises a wide range of benefits for digital workplaces – from compatibility and stability to performance optimization and outstanding customer support.

eLux is now available as pre-installed software on Lenovo laptops and thin clients which can be purchased from Bytec. This new type of integration allows customers and resellers to use the devices right away, without having to manually install the software first. Deploying systems has never been easier. Bytec handles the pre-installation and configuration of the eLux operating system on the Lenovo devices, which reduces implementation time for IT admins.

Philipp Benkler, CEO of Unicon, explains: “With Fujitsu’s planned withdrawal from the European client business, we see an increasing demand for hardware alternatives. And eLux combined with Lenovo is the ideal solution for hybrid workplaces. It allows for seamless access to VDI/DaaS and makes the most of their virtual desktop and application environments.”

This close cooperation between Lenovo and Unicon sets extremely high standards for security and updates, as the compatibility between hardware and software is continuously and comprehensively checked and certified. Moreover, the seamless partnership allows customers to rely on a single point of contact, Bytec, to provide both hardware and software support. Customers receive tailored solutions for any challenges or individual requirements that may arise in their VDI or DaaS environment.

Reinhold Egenter, CEO of Bytec, is particularly pleased about the intensified cooperation: “Bytec serves as a single point of contact for the IT channel, which simplifies support for our customers. Thanks to Unicon and Lenovo, we can offer resellers a holistic package that combines hardware and software. This creates extra value for them and a solution that best meets their needs.”

Torsten Ruegner, Director Product- and Businessmanagement Lenovo Germany, emphasizes: “We are looking forward to joining forces with Unicon and Bytec. This close partnership means that our customers will benefit from a fast, straightforward solution that is based on proven technologies plus our many years of experience.

Lenovo, Bytec and Unicon aim to take IT infrastructure performance to a new level. This cooperation not only ensures seamless hardware and software integration, but also increases IT infrastructure flexibility and scalability – which is exactly what is needed for modern hybrid workflows and VDI applications.
