- Return to the
Login page, enter your initials, select the March survey
and click Enter.
Instructions will show. Ignore them for now.
- In the Variable Name box near the
top of the screen, enter: age (if it's not already
there).
- Click the Make a Table button at
left.
- Click the Add button next to the
Row Variable box. age will show in
the box.
- Click the Make Table button below.
After a few seconds a table of frequencies for
age will show.
- Click the Make a Graph button at
left.
- Under Step 1, select Histogram if not already selected.
- Under Step 2, click the Add Variable Name button.
- Click the Make Graph button below.
After a few seconds a histogram of frequencies for
age will show.
- Click the View Documentation
checkbox near the top of the screen. The documentation for
age will show.
That's it! Now you can go back
and examine the instructions and the documentation, the Set Options,
Specify Universe, and Apply Weights buttons, other kinds of Tables
and Graphs, the Extraction and Regression functions, the
Summarize buttons on the pages where you specify those functions, the
Custom Variables utility, the Search and other variable management
facilities, and anything else we may have added since we prepared this tour.
